Anya Audette Randall was born in Catonsville, MD. A little suburb outside of Baltimore. I describe my music taste as everything that tells a story. What's going on in my career has been a renaissance. After 40 years in musical theatre I am changing and evolving.
Quote from DC Theatre Scene: Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill at the Anacostia Playhouse succeeds on every level. The music is terrific, the story is memorable, and Anya Randall Nebel gives a powerful yet nuanced performance that will live in your memory for a long time.
My musical history started at the the age of 5years old and West Side Story. I saw Rita Moreno onscreen and I said, "One day I will be her". 35 years later I became her. Not a movie star with acting and dancing but an inspiration for myself in the art of determination. After many years in the world of musical theatre stages, tours internationally and domestically , I went back to my classical roots... Music. Taking on Pucinni, Adele, Roberta Flack, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday and everything in between. What sets me apart from some is that my niche tells a story always. I live and breathe my songs. I was fortunate to play the late great Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill to critical acclaim to singing at Carnegie Hall twice in classical recitals.
So whats going on in my career now, Well, I graduated from Berklee School of Music with a degree in Music Production and Engineering. My self titled album will be out in December of 2018. I will be working with the best of the best in the business. I am excited to make music with storytelling and purpose. Sign up for my mailing list for all of the latest information.
